I was a stranger, and they welcomed me into their home” (Mt 25:36c).

On November 9-11, our community received a visit from the Apostolic Nuncio for Uganda, Bishop Luigi Bianco and Cardinal Fabio Baggio with his secretary Fr. Dumisani Vilakati.
The purpose of the visit to the Diocese of Arua was to get to know the headquarters of the Vicariate for Refugees and Migrants in Adjumani and Moyo District, which has more than a million refugees from southern Sudan.
On Saturday they visited the largest settlement in Bidibidi and on Sunday morning they celebrated in the settlement where the Scalabrinian Fathers and the Little Daughters of St. Joseph work.

In the afternoon, here on the veranda of our house, we welcomed the visiting team with a group of 62 religious and lay people who work directly with refugees for lunch and a meeting.
Monsignor Felix Darani, Coordinator of the local Vicariate, presented the Congregations and the Secretary, Fr. Kizito, gave a report on the activities carried out with the refugees.
Cardinal Fabio and Fr. Dumisani explained their mission at the Vatican, giving clarifications and guidance on the subject of refugees.

The Apostolic Nuncio provided us with the celebration of the Eucharist at 6 a.m. After breakfast, they left for Rome, leaving an atmosphere of peace and God’s grace.
