A few days before the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, novenas, triduums and prayer times were organized in different parts of the Institute in preparation for the Feast. On June 7, Archbishop Rino Fisichella, Pro-Prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelization, presided over a Eucharistic celebration of the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus at the St. Frances Cabrini Spirituality Center in Codogno. In the afternoon, the new St. Frances Cabrini multimedia room was also presented and the video “The Sacred Heart, Mother Cabrini and her Missionaries” was screened.
On the same day, Cabrini Health in Australia also celebrated this special anniversary. The Sisters attending renewed their vows and their commitment to serve. Dozens of people were welcomed at the Mass in the Malvern Chapel to witness the renewal of vows of Sr. Theresa Cervasio, MSC and Sr. Beatriz Santos, MSC. On behalf of all staff and volunteers, Jenny Nicholson, Director of Support Services, reaffirmed their shared commitment to the Cabrinian mission and values.
At the Generalate in Rome, the sisters and employees celebrated the Feast of the Sacred Heart with a celebration presided over by Father Nibin and Father Jerome of the Vocationists at which Sr. Stella Maris, Sr. Gilda and Sr. Giuditta renewed their vows. A joyful lunch was shared together afterwards.
Sr. Eliane and Sr. Patricia were in eSwatini for the celebration of Sr. Meseret’s perpetual vows on the Feastday.
In Dobbs Ferry, USA, Adela Jarquin Sosa, Marianne McGowan and Digna Merchan renewed their commitment as Cabrinian laywomen for another three years. At the Shrine in Colorado on June 7, there was a Mass and renewal of vows for the MSCs present. Staff, volunteers, and friends of the Shrine attended and the evening concluded with a community dinner.
