Today, June 29 2022, we began with a sharing of comments on the report of the General Superior, from each of the groups in which we had worked the day before. There was congruity in the aspects each group had discussed.

Then Sr. Stella Maris Elena, General Treasurer, presented the Institute’s Financial Report, in collaboration with Mr. Greg Lane, Chief Financial Officer based in Chicago. He also presented on the use of the Institute’s material assets, including Impact Investing.

In the afternoon, we listened to the sharing of Sr. Neusa de Fátima Mariano, General Superior of the Scalabrinian Sisters, who told us about the inter-congregational project of welcoming vulnerable refugee women and children into our MSC house in Pineta Sacchetti St. in Rome, as a safe refuge.

Speaking about inter-congregational collaboration, Sr. Neusa pointed out that this helps us to revitalize our own charism, opening us for service to migrants and refugees. As we become stronger, we are better able to live the spirituality and charism of both Mother Cabrini and Bishop Scalabrini. She added that those who have been victims of human trafficking networks are also being cared for in this ministry.

This afternoon,  we enjoyed a presentation by Sr. Albertina Ghislieri Goulart, in which she shared the experience of the mission in Uganda. It was so energizing to see all the strides made in this mission outreach over a short period of time and during the covid pandemic.

We ended the day with comments by Sr. Barbara Staley, General Superior, on the reactions presented in the morning.
