For Christians, mission means spreading the Gospel through the Church. The missionary is the one who has the mission of spreading the faith, the one who dedicates himself to preach and to take his religious beliefs to different places, spreading the word of the Lord.
The Institute of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, founded by Mother Cabrini in 1880, is present in 4 continents (America, Europe, Africa and Oceania) and in 15 countries in the world, among them Brazil.
