With great joy and love, I would like to share my experience in Cameroon with you all. It was a great opportunity for me, especially to go out of my country, and, as an MSC, to do Vocation Animation in another country.
Meeting with the young women, Gloria & Yvette, sharing our experiences and desires, really touched my heart. One of the women said to us, ‘Who am I that you come to me? Like Jesus, Mary and Mother Cabrini, who went out to look for, and help others, so you are the same like that for me today’, she said.
We received a very warm welcome from the Bishop of Kumba, and the people in his Diocese that we met when he gave us a tour of the local area and the activities and needs of the local Church.
Kumba is a couple of hours north of Douala, and has suffered greatly from the ongoing political and
armed conflict. In Douala, Father Florindo, an Italian priest who has lived many years in Cameroon, was very helpful and kind to us. We stayed at the Guesthouse of the Holy Spirit Fathers, which was a good location for us. We also witnessed the faith of so many people coming for prayer and daily celebration of the Eucharist in their lovely Chapel. This brief visit was a great experience and witness for me as a Missionary Sister. However, the hot and humid weather was a great challenge!

Thanks to Sr. Alemenesh for sharing her experience (December 2021)
