A palmese delegation of lay missionaries from the “St. Francesca Cabrini” Association reached the United States of America on a pilgrimage in the footsteps of the Universal Patroness of Migrants. The decision by President Antonietta Scopelliti and the delegation was decided after Cardinal Blase Cupich, Archbishop of Chicago, for the benefit of the souls entrusted to his pastoral care, requested the Apostolic Penitentiary of His Holiness Pope Francis, Bishop of Rome, to grant the grace and favor of a special Jubilee Year in honor of the 75th Anniversary of the Canonization of St. Frances Cabrini, and the privilege of Plenary Indulgence for the duration of the year, from Nov. 13, 2021 to Nov. 13, 2022. In addition, on August 24, 2021, Cardinal Mauro Piacenza, Major Penitentiary of His Holiness Pope Francis, granted the request and granted this special Jubilee Year beginning on November 13, 2021, with a solemn liturgy at the National Shrine of St. Frances Cabrini in Chicago. This Jubilee Year privilege is extended to the Cathedral of the Holy Name of the Universal Patroness of Migrants.
