On April 30, the Church celebrates the 60th World Day of Prayer for Vocations.
We invite everyone to pray for vocations to religious life. In a special way today we share with you our joy for the presence of young MSC aspirants!

Welcome to our MSC Aspirants!

On March 6, as we waited with joy in the cold night-time air, three young women from Kenya and one young woman from Cameroon, arrived at Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa to start the next part of their discernment journey with the Missionary Sisters.
Two of the Kenyans had been in Addis Ababa for the ‘Come & See’ program last year, but the 3rd, Patricia, had not received her passport in time. Now all 3 were finally together in Addis Ababa. For Gloria, from Cameroon, it was a happy reunion since the program last year. When we all arrived back at the community, there was much chattering and catching up, as we enjoyed a small welcome together.
On March 8, the 4 Aspirants, along with Sr. Suany, Sr. Maureen and Teshome, headed down to Dubbo where the first part of the Candidate Program will take place.
The Aspirants were keen to get to Dubbo again, and especially to join Asrat, our Ethiopian Aspirant, and as well to meet the staff and our ministries again. Also, they were looking forward to the warmer weather down south, as for each of them, Addis Ababa was too cold!
After the long trip to Dubbo, and reuniting with the other Sisters and the Cabrini Ministries staff, it was time to get to work! Each Aspirant found her room and settled in her personal things.

Then, there was the final steps of setting up the Candidate House. Prior to their arrival, there had been some needed cleaning, repair and refreshing of the building done. Now, it was time to clean away the dust, and make it ‘homey’.
On Saturday, March 11, at Evening Prayer, there was a special Welcome Ceremony in the Sacred Heart Community Chapel. During the prayer, each of the Aspirants (and also the Sisters) received a relic of Mother Cabrini, which had been lovingly prepared by our Sisters of the Sacred Heart Community in Jackson St, New York City.

We thank God for the gift of these young ladies. We ask each of you to continue praying for them and for vocations to religious life!
