As we come to the end of another year we reflect on the amazing work and achievements of the Cabrini family around the world.
Eswatini, is a country of great beauty and great extremes, in its landscape, climate and in the pride and resilience of its people.
Since 2002 Cabrini Ministries Eswatini housed, sheltered, loved, cared for, fed, educated and raised 215 children who were in desperate need as a result of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Hand in hand with communities who requested Cabrini’s help to care for the many orphans and vulnerable children, a dedicated team of Cabrini staff were able to bring the transformative love of Jesus to the lives of many children who may not otherwise have survived. With the support of Health Care and Social Services Departments the well-being of families in St Philips has stabilised and as such there is no longer a need for permanent residential care of children. Many have completed school and moved onto adult life, others are now safely housed in family homes where they can grow and finish education alongside their siblings.
On Friday 29t November 2019 Cabrini Eswatini celebrated this amazing progress with Mass at St Philips Parish followed by a Transitioning Event presided over by His Excellency Monsignor Jose Luis Gerado Ponce de Leon IMC, Bishop of the Diocese of Manzini, Sister Barbara Staley, General Superior MSC, Representatives of the Deputy Prime Minister, Health & Social Services Departments, local Chiefdoms and other partner organisations. The dedicated women raised the children over the years were honoured and the children returned to sing, dance and thank God for the love that Cabrini brought to their lives.
