On 13th November, Cabrini Feast Day, we make memory of the beatification of Mother Cabrini and on 14th we remember the Foundation of the Institute of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Two days of celebrations, despite our pandemic era and according to the different traditions all over the world.
We have tried to put together the joy, the gratitude and the light of celebrating, each in their own way, Mother Cabrini.
Archdiocese of Denver Office of Catholic Schools – Colorado, USA
The Office of Catholic Schools recently hosted an Archdiocesan-wide art contest to honor St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, for whom we now have a statewide holiday.
Participating schools hosted local level art contests inviting students to create an art piece that captured why Mother Cabrini is someone worth celebrating and honoring. The schools then submitted their winning entries to our office, one per grade level group (PreK-2nd, 3rd-5th, Middle School, High School) and we then selected one winning piece from all the Catholic Schools for each grade level group.
Because today is Mother Cabrini’s Feast Day, we’d like to share the winning entries with you. They are:
PreK-grade 2: Charlotte H, 2nd grader from Our Lady of Lourdes
Grades 3-5: Landon, 3rd grader from Our Lady of Fatima
Grades 6-8: Olivia K, 8th grader from St. John the Baptist
High school: It’s a TIE! J. Daly, 11th grader from BMHS and W. Villegas, 12th grader at BMHS
Click on each piece to read more about the artist.
Each winner will receive a special Mother Cabrini image along with a special prize from the Office of Catholic Schools! Congrats to all of the winners and thank you to all of the schools that participated.

Happy Feast Day, Cabrini Community! Today, the universal Church honors St. Frances Cabrini, or Mother Cabrini, as we know her. She is honored as being the patron saint of immigrants. As an institution founded in Mother Cabrini’s name, we strive to honor her legacy in all we do. 💗

The Mass in Thanksgiving for the feast of Mother Cabrini was simply LINDA!
In the chapel of the @colegiomadrecabrini, at the moment of the fulfilment of peace, it was difficult to hold on to the will to embrace, all the more so, being so enthusiastic, filled with God, as Father Rafael Galvão said. In person and online, the celebration moved everyone who shared this very special moment.
Gratitude Mother Cabrini for inspiring us and filling us with joy to be part of this wonderful mission.
May others like us celebrate with great joy her beatification, canonization and the foundation of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus 140 years from now.
