Sister Denise Alves Morra – Social Manager of the Centro da Juventude Santa Cabrini – presents the volunteers of the Centre.
The Mother Cabrini Association is a private law entity, being a civil, non-profit, social investment, charitable and philanthropic association, dedicated to education and social assistance, which operates in various states of Brazil through the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, lay people, volunteers and collaborators, having as evangelizing action the following of Jesus Christ through the preferential option for the excluded and impoverished. In the State of Piauí, precisely in the city of Teresina, the Association maintains the Santa Cabrini Youth Centre, founded in 2000, in Vila Irmã Dulce, south of the city. With the aim of providing special assistance to the most needy through training and human promotion. In this way the Santa Cabrini Youth Centre is a socio-educational space for children, adolescents, young people and their families in situations of impoverishment and/or personal and social risk, with the determination to deepen their commitment to solidarity and social justice. Through the effective exercise of citizenship, social inclusion, respect for differences, the development of a set of actions that seek to build a more just, fraternal, inclusive and supportive society; and thus to strengthen family and community ties.
