Book Presentation: “Living in the World: Young and Old in Italy's Long-Lived and Multicultural Society”

Today, October 9, in the Chapter Hall of the Cloister of the Convent of Santa Maria Sopra Minerva, the book *Stare nel mondo. Giovani e anziani dell’Italia longeva e multiculturale* was presented. The book was strongly supported by and features contributions from ISTAT, the Migrantes Foundation, and the Toniolo Institute.

The presentation was moderated by journalist Elisabetta Soglio, editor-in-chief of *Corriere Buone Notizie*.

The first series of speakers included: Italian Senator Graziano Del Rio, Monsignor Pierpaolo Felicolo, Director General of the CEI’s Migrantes Foundation, and Giuseppe Fioroni, Vice President of the Toniolo Institute.

The President of ISTAT, Dr. Francesco Maria Chelli, also participated via video link.

Next to speak was Sabrina Prati of Istat, a researcher and Director of the Statistics Service on Migration and the Conditions of Foreign Citizens, followed by the authors of the book in this order:

Cristina Pasqualini, Delfina Licata, and Fabio Introini.

 


 

Dr. Anna Maria Tarantola, an public official from Italy, former executive at the Bank of Italy, and president of RAI from June 8, 2012, to August 5, 2015, then summarized the meeting’s conclusions.
