Canonical pastoral visit by the Superior General, Sr. Maria Eliane Azevedo Da Silva, and the Assistant General, Sr. Patrícia Godoy

The canonical pastoral visit of the General Superior, Sr. Maria Eliane, accompanied by the Assistant General, Sr. Patrícia, to the Novitiate Community in Nairobi, Kenya, took place from February 14 to 18, 2026.

The novitiate formation house in Nairobi began its activity in March 2025. This visit by Sr. Maria Eliane and Sr. Patricia was a blessing both for the girls in the Novitiate and for the strengthening of the formative mission in the Institute!

The Regional Superior, Sr. Barbara Staley, welcomed and accompanied the Superior General and the Assistant throughout the pastoral visit.

Some highlights of this visit were: the welcome from the community, the various moments of sharing and prayer, participation in Sunday Mass in the parish of Guadalupe, the visit to the missionary center of the Brothers Missionaries of Charity, the Eucharistic Celebration that took place in the community, and the moment of individual dialogue with the novices and sisters of the community.

The Mass in the community was presided over by Jesuit Father Odomaro Mubangizi, SJ, who contributed to the Cabrinian insertion in Nairobi.
