This month brings a very special time: ADVENT. Advent is the first period of the liturgical Christian. It includes the four weeks prior to Christmas and its name comes from the Latin "adventus", which means "coming." It is a time of preparation for celebrate three dimensions of Christ's coming: His birth in Bethlehem, which remember every Christmas. His continuous presence in our lives, especially in prayer, the Eucharist and acts of charity. His coming glorious to end of the time, when everything will be taken to fullness. We have tried to help students discover the meaning of Advent as a time of waiting and hope. We encouraged them to reflect on how God illuminates our lives each Sunday of Advent, and to foster active participation and creativity.  In preschool and elementary school, the theme was "We open windows to discover the arrival  of Jesus." During the four weeks of Advent, the children opened shutters on a special mural. Each window hid a character that helps us better understand the anticipation of Jesus and the meaning of Christmas.

At secondary school and high school the motto, "The world lacks light. God speaks to us on the four Sundays of Advent."

- Awaken (Matthew 24, 37-44) "When words are lacking, God sends prophets."

- The light comes (Matthew 3:1-12) John the Baptist "When horizons are lacking, the hope"

- The Annunciation (Matthew 11:2-11) Gaudete "When is missing delivers someone says Here  I am

- San José (Matthew1: 18-24) Saint Joseph "When there is no security there is someone trusts."

Throughout the Church and society, a new campaign is beginning at this time: Operation Kilo. If at DOMUND we have looked at people in need who are far from us, these weeks are for looking at people in need who are close to us.As Christmas approaches, we have encouraged our children to continue the example of Jesus: "For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me a stranger, and you welcomed me..." We have collected kilos of food to help the Nazaret Association. With this we want our students to become aware of the need to share and show solidarity with those who do not have as much as we do. With this campaign, we want to convey to them that solidarity is the best gift we can offer at Christmas and help them discover the joy of giving and sharing.
