Feast of St. Lawrence in Paraguay
Diocese of San Lorenzo

#FeastOfStLawrence | ❤️🔥“Here are the treasures of the Church”

With deep joy and gratitude, we celebrate today the feast of St. Lawrence, deacon and martyr, patron saint of our Cathedral and of our entire Diocese.

In his homily, our Bishop, Monsignor Joaquín Robledo, invited us to reflect on the witness of Saint Lawrence, who understood that the true treasures of the Church are not material riches, but people—especially the poor, the needy, and those living on the margins of society.

In this Year of the Common Good, his witness reminds us that our faith comes to life when we are able to serve, share, uphold the dignity of every person, and work together for a society where everyone can live with dignity, justice, and peace. Saint Lawrence teaches us that following Christ means giving one’s life in service to others. And that call continues today in our Church: a Church that goes out to meet others, that listens, that accompanies, and that proclaims the Gospel with hope.

This feast is also an opportunity to give thanks for the journey we have made as a diocese, for the 25th-anniversary Jubilee, and for the experience of the Diocesan Mission in a Synodal Spirit, which allowed us to draw closer to families, share in their joys and sufferings, and recognize the richness of walking together.

THANK YOU

To all the priests, deacons, men and women religious, pastoral workers, movements, parish communities, institutions, and, in a special way, to every volunteer who gave their time, effort, and heart during these ten days of the Novena of Saint Lawrence.

Thank you to those who were behind every celebration, every detail, every moment of prayer, every service, and every gesture of brotherhood. A special thank you to our Communications Network, which dedicatedly supported these days to bring the images, messages, and moments experienced during this great diocesan feast to so many homes.

May the Virgin Mary and Saint Lawrence intercede for our Diocese and help us continue to be a Church that loves, serves, and always puts the person at the center.
