Today is the second day of the Global Assembly of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus entitled “Consecrated Women Pilgrims of Hope” at the Ergife Hotel in Rome. After morning prayer, there was a conference entitled “The Spirituality of the Sacred Heart of Jesus” by Father José Cristo Rey García Paredes, CMF, Congregation of the Missionaries Sons of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This was followed by a round table discussion entitled “The Expression of the Spirituality of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Mission Today,” where four sisters shared how this expression is manifested in their respective provinces and regions. Sr. Tatiana spoke about the painting of the Sacred Heart created a few months ago by a Russian painter and about the mission in Russia, Sr. Gloria spoke about her experience in Brazil, Sr. Alemenesh spoke about her experience in Ethiopia, and Sr. Eileen spoke about her experience in the United States. The day continued with Holy Mass presided over by the Bishop of Lodi, His Excellency Maurizio Malvestiti, and concelebrated by Father Josè Cristo Rey García Paredes, CMF. The day ended with an evening of karaoke, where various traditional songs from different countries were sung and danced to.
Facilitating the Assembly during these days were Sr. Imma de Stefanis, RSCJ, and Sr. Reyna Gonzales, RSCJ.
