On March 12, 2026, the sisters of the Guadalupe Province gathered in Newark, New Jersey, and began the second part of their assembly with the theme “Discernment and Leadership.” The Superior General, Sr. Maria Eliane, and the Assistant General, Sr. Gilda, coordinated and will continue to coordinate the proceedings on March 12 and 13. In the morning, the theme “Discernment” was presented by Jesuit Father James J. Miracky, S.J., Ph.D., of Saint Peter’s University. In the afternoon, Sr. Gilda led the process of personal reflection, group discussion, and the plenary session on discernment, conversation, and communion of life for the mission.
On the final day of the Guadalupe Province Assembly, the theme chosen by the General Superior, Sr. Maria Eliane, for the day’s sessions was “Authority as Service,” emphasizing leadership marked by discernment, service, and communion. Following this, the Assistant General, Sr. Gilda, led a time of reflection, adoration, and conclusion of the day’s sessions.
On March 13, a time of Eucharistic adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and a blessing for the Provincial Superior, Sr. Diane Olmstead, and the sisters of the Guadalupe Provincial Council were also held during the Assembly.
These photos are from Sr. Eliane and Sr. Gilda’s visit to St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York, during which a prayer was offered for the Guadalupe Province and for the entire Institute.
