From April 18 to 20, the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus of the Mater Gratiae Province in Codogno held their Assembly, attended by the General Assistant. They began their meeting with prayer, guided by Sr. Patrizia and Sr. Teresinha, who led all the MSC sisters in their work.
They then participated, shared, and reflected on the concept of authority in religious congregations today, within the context of a synodal Church, drawing especially from the Constitutions, which are the true pillars of the Congregation.
The vision to be followed is that of Mother Cabrini, and what she says regarding the service of authority in the Church, to serve as a valuable guide for living together as a community and serving the people of God.
All the MSCs then participated, reflected, and reviewed the Constitutions in a serene atmosphere, having shared the principles of listening, belonging, participation, leadership, authority, discernment, respect, dialogue, subsidiarity, and co-responsibility.
We thus explored a way of walking together, a way of working that emphasizes communion, participation, and mission; this process concerns our response as MSCs in today’s society, living the religious life according to the Cabrini spirit.
May the Holy Spirit continue to help us live our Constitutions in our works and mission.
