Pastoral Visit Diocese of Ugento Santa Maria di Leuca - Diocesan Migrants' Day 2026 - Day 2

On Saturday 8 August, the events of the 2026 Emigrant Festival continued, as part of the Diocesan Day of Migration and the pilgrimage of the Relic of Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini, patron saint of migrants.

In the afternoon, the rosary was recited, followed by Holy Mass presided over by Father Pasquale in the parish of San Rocco.

At 20:00, at the 𝗢𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗼𝗰𝗰𝗼 in Gagliano del Capo, a conference was held on the topic of migration, with the testimony of the 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀, dedicated to the charism of Mother Cabrini and other contributions, including that of Mr. Franco Ruberti, President of the Association of Emigrants of Galliano del Capo and other members of the Association, also on the topic of migration.

The conference was conducted by Father Fabrizio Gallo, director of the Migrantes Office of the Diocese of Ugento Santa Maria di Leuca. After the brief greeting from Sister Eliane, Sister Assunta presented the figure of Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini.
