Pastoral Visit Diocese of Ugento Santa Maria di Leuca - Diocesan Migrants’ Day 2026- Day 3

On Sunday, the 9th, at 10:30 a.m., in the presence of Father Fabrizio Gallo, Father Pasquale Pizzuti, the president of the Migrants’ Association, Mr. Franco Ruberti, Sister Maria Eliane, Sister Stella Maris, and Sister Assuntina, Holy Mass was celebrated and the relic of Saint Cabrini was solemnly blessed at the Church of Saint Michael the Archangel in Castrignano del Capo.

Father Fabrizio Gallo spoke of Saint Cabrini as a saint who came from the sea, while Sister Eliane described her as “a saint of the earth, the sea, and the sky.”

During the closing remarks and expressions of gratitude, the Superior General, Sr. Eliane, spoke of the relic as a bearer of blessings, a sign of Christ’s love for the entire community, and a message of hope for the mission being carried out in those territories.

Mother of God

with your most gentle face

and tender gaze,

from this place,

woven with history and faith,
