Presentation of the 2025 Report on Italians in the World

Presentation of the 2025 Report on Italians in the World

Today, November 11, in Rome, at the San Pio X hall, the 20th edition of the presentation of the Migrantes Foundation's Report on Italians in the World was held.

During his speech, Monsignor Pierpaolo Felicolo, Director General of the Migrantes Foundation, emphasized the importance of “continuing to explore the issue of migration in greater depth, so that we can continue to walk alongside migrants.” Monsignor Felicolo then reminded us how important it is, in general and especially in our country, to take care of every migrant.

In this jubilee year of hope, he invites us to look at hope as a bridge across the world. The Prefect of the Dicastery for Communication of the Holy See, Dr. Paolo Ruffini, also spoke along these lines, quoting the Nobel Peace Prize winner, journalist Maria Ressa, who during the Jubilee of Communication in January 2025 stated in her speech, "Without facts, you cannot have truth. Without truth, you cannot have trust. Without these three elements, we do not have a shared reality."

At the conclusion of the event, His Excellency Monsignor Gian Carlo Perego, President of the Episcopal Commission for Migration of the CEI and of the Migrantes Foundation, recalled that in our country, where 193 different nationalities coexist, there should be an ever-increasing sense of shared responsibility and communion. He therefore called for greater mobility and a stronger alliance between territories where communities and the Church can walk together.
