Retreats at the Start of the Course: “God Walks with You, and You Illuminate the World”

Retreats at the Start of the Course: “God Walks with You, and You Illuminate the World”

The month of October was marked by the traditional back-to-school retreats, a fundamental activity within our educational and pastoral program. Through these gatherings, our students were able to strengthen their bonds of friendship, welcome new classmates, and begin the school year with reflection, fellowship, and faith.

Under the theme “God walks with you, and you illuminate the world”, students from all grade levels participated in group activities, moments of prayer, cooperative games, and age-appropriate activities. These experiences helped them discover that God is always with us on our journey and that each person can become a light for others through simple acts of helping, listening, forgiving, respecting, and showing solidarity.

Although each grade level developed specific activities, they all shared the same goal: to recognize God’s presence in our lives and to commit to illuminating the world through our daily actions.

Weaving Paths of Peace

Middle and high school students participated in particularly meaningful retreats under the theme “Weaving Paths of Peace”.

In preparation, during homeroom sessions, students participated in an activity of personal reflection on the importance of human relationships and mutual support. They analyzed the differences between receiving a response from artificial intelligence and receiving one from a person, reflecting on the value of closeness, empathy, and support in our personal growth.

Afterward, they took a hike to the Virgen del Espino chapel in Los Molinos. This journey became a symbol of the path each of us takes in life: a unique path, but never a solitary one. The day invited us to acknowledge all those who help us grow, support us in difficult times, and inspire us to be better people.

These gatherings have provided a wonderful opportunity to begin the school year with renewed enthusiasm, strengthening our sense of community, and reminding us that we are part of a large educational community in which everyone is important. United by faith and a commitment to one another, we continue to build a school where each person contributes their own light to make the world a better place.
