The foundation blessing ceremony for a new kindergarten in Kokailla, Ethiopia.
The blessing ceremony was graciously presided over by Father Adane Woldemariam, who stood in for Bishop Seyoum Fransua, the Catholic Apostolic Vicar of Hosanna. Unfortunately, Bishop Seyoum Fransua was unable to attend the event, but his spirit and intentions were conveyed through Father Adane’s heartfelt words and blessings.
The ceremony was honored by the presence of numerous distinguished guests, gathered to celebrate this milestone for the community. Among them were our sisters from Dubbo, the CEO of St. Mary’s Hospital, and Mr. Bongani Khumalo, a mentor to leaders of various organizations and ministries in our region—prominent guests who brought a sense of solidarity and a shared vision for the community’s educational development. Also in attendance were the former and current pastors of St. Anne’s Parish—Father Tarekegn Yohanes and Father Geziegn Mancha—accompanied by Father Gera, a testament to the strong bonds and the Church’s commitment to the community’s well-being.
Government representatives were also in attendance, demonstrating the collaboration between the Church and public institutions in promoting educational opportunities. The residents of Kokailla enlivened the event with warmth and enthusiasm. Their participation underscored the community’s commitment to the educational advancement of their children.
The blessing of the foundation for the new preschool is a beacon of hope and progress for our mission in Sadama. It symbolizes a joint effort by religious, government, and community leaders to invest in the children’s future. With the support of all parties involved, this project is set to become a milestone for education and development in the region.
