The General Superior of the MSC at the Plenary Assembly of the Dicastery for Evangelization

The Plenary Session of the Dicastery for Evangelization began on May 26.

Sister Maria Eliane Azevedo Da Silva, M.S.C., General Superior of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, is also participating in the Plenary Session as a member of the Dicastery.

Our Institute is grateful to be represented through the work of the Superior General.

The morning began with a presentation by Pro-Prefect Monsignor Rino Fisichella, and a meeting with the Holy Father, Leo XIV, is also scheduled for the coming days.

The proceedings continued on the 27th.

The Plenary Session concluded on May 28 with an audience with Pope Leo XIV.

After thanking the participants for their great work during the 2025 Jubilee, the Holy Father emphasized: “Evangelization must remain the fundamental motivation behind every action of the universal Church and of local communities; only in this way is the faith itself continually rediscovered in all its beauty and able to express its credibility to the full. The proclamation of the Gospel, which instils hope, is not a utopian proposal: it is a witness that draws people in because it reveals the call to love and truth.”

He then went on to encourage special attention to the importance of Christian initiation in various contexts and to young people with a great thirst for spirituality.
