Domund Week 2026: “One in Christ, United in Mission”

Thank you to the October newsletter of Colegio Cabrini in Madrid for this article!

During the month of October, we also joined the DOMUND 2026 campaign, whose theme this year is “One in Christ, United in Mission.” Through various activities carried out in the classrooms, the students reflected on the richness of a universal Church made up of people from different countries, cultures, languages, ages, and ways of life. What unites us is not that we are all the same, but that we share the same faith and mission: to proclaim the Gospel and build a more fraternal world. Missionaries are an example of this reality. Through their dedication and witness, they live alongside communities very different from their own, learn new customs, and build bridges between peoples and cultures, making God’s love present where it is most needed. DOMUND reminds us that, although we live in different places and have different stories, Jesus calls us to walk together. The Church’s mission is not to standardize, but to value each person’s talents and gifts so that they may be put at the service of others. As a symbol of this reflection, the students participated in a classroom activity in which they formed a large circle. Through this activity, they came to understand that each person occupies a unique and irreplaceable place within the community. When someone is left out, the circle breaks; when everyone finds their place, the community grows, becomes stronger, and better reflects the message of brotherhood that Jesus invites us to live out. Through this campaign, we have renewed our commitment to the Church’s missionary work and have become aware that all of us, in our daily lives, are called to be missionaries of hope, unity, and love. “Diversity enriches us, faith unites us, and mission drives us to build a more fraternal world.”
