Italy is the birthplace of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini and the foundation of the Institute of the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Today, it is part of the Mater Gratiae Province, along with Spain, Switzerland and Russia.

There are two places in Italy that are very important to the history of our Institute: the Birth House of Francesca Cabrini, in Sant'Angelo Lodigiano, and the Institute's Foundation House, in Codogno, in the province of Lodi.

Inside the St. Francesca Cabrini Spirituality Center in Codogno today are the Cabrinian Museum, the Tabor Church, and the Sacred Heart Community of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
