A plaque for the well built in Wallacha with funding from the Lions Club was presented to the Cabrinian family last April 20 in Codogno.
The president and former president of the Codogno Casalpusterlengo Lions Club donated the plaque that will be affixed to the well to the Regional Superior of Holy Spirit Sr. Barbara and Sr. Berhane, director of Cabrini Ministries in Ethiopia.
The handover took place during a meeting in which Sr. Barbara, Sr. Berhane and Enrica Valentini presented the work done in Ethiopia in the field of social/health, food and educational assistance to so many mothers and children from vulnerable families.
Also present at the handover were Sr. Maria Regina, Sr. Suany, Sr. Patricia, Sr. Joan and other guest sisters in Codogno.
The construction of the well in Wallacha, where the mission serves a community of about 8,000, was completed in 2021, thanks to the financial contribution of various Lions Clubs in the Codogno area, in Ethiopia and internationally.
The project has had a positive impact on the community, especially for the 120 children who attend St. Francesca Cabrini Preschool each year, who now have clean water to drink and to wash their hands.
