Dear Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart, Cabrinian Lay Missionaries, Cabrinian Volunteers and Lay Mission Collaborators.
I would like to begin my greeting on this occasion when we commemorate the birth of Jesus with this verse from the prophet Isaiah.
“The people who walked in darkness
saw a great light” (Isaiah 9:1).
It is an invitation to contemplate our world with its shadows, but above all it is an invitation to recognize that this great Light that illuminates the people is Jesus, who comes to illuminate our lives and to become that little light that illuminates our family, our community, our mission and our society, invites us to be bearers of hope, of joy in that place that God has planted for us to flourish.
