The Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is the most important feast for the Institute of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and it is with great joy that on this very feast, 7 new lay missionaries, Chiara Rusconi, Daniela Mondini, Alessandra Bergamaschi, Sabrina Proietti, Edelwaiss Tombari, Vera Proia, Stefania Giacomini will become part of the Cabrinian Family, and Marina Pace will renew her promise as a Cabrini Lay Missionary.
The initial formation period lasted two years, and in our many meetings we studied the History and Charism of the Institute and delved into Mother Cabrini’s Spirituality through her writings, memoirs, church documents and two wonderful books that took us by the hand and led us more deeply through Cabrinian Spirituality: “The Glory of the Heart of Jesus in the Spirituality of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini” written by Sister Maria Regina Canale, and “Free Yourselves and Put on Wings” written by Sister Maria Barbagallo.
These meetings also allowed us to get to know each other better and create a cohesive group that shares the Cabrinian missionary project, aware that we are always on the way, and with the desire to do so alongside the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
