On July 4 2022, we began the second week of activities of the XVI General Chapter. We started the journey by praying and reflecting on the aspects discussed in the first week.

Then we had individual and collective reflections on Discernment, led by Mr. Chris Lowney. He helped us to recognize that we live in a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous world (VUCA), which entails various challenges. The reflection on discernment, following the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, accented learning to identify what our consolations and desolations are. He encouraged us to move forward, like St. Frances Cabrini, unloading our unhealthy baggage and recognizing that we are all responsible for the mission, regardless of the role we play and where we are.

The Eucharistic celebration took place as usual and was followed by a festive lunch celebrating Independence Day for the United States.

The day concluded after a plenary session emphasizing the reflections of the groups on the issues we will commit ourselves as an Institute.
