Today, on the birthday of Mother Cabrini, we remembered her especially with a morning gathering prayer, followed by a procession with candles, her statue, and a song dedicated to her into the Chapter Room.
After the daily roll-call of Chapter Delegates and reading of the previous day’s minutes, the Chapter Assembly focused on the task of discussing and approving some of the Mandates, Recommendations and the Theological Reflection. These were prepared over the previous days by the responsible small groups for presentation to the Chapter.
At the Eucharist, we continued to ask Mother Cabrini to intercede for us all, especially during this time of the Chapter.
Lunchtime followed in the Cabrinian tradition of celebrating the gift of the life of Mother Cabrini. Besides the delicious food prepared for us, the kitchen staff presented a very lovely cake with Mother Cabrini’s picture on it.
We continued the day discussing, refining and affirming the Chapter Mandates.
