In the Brazilian calendar, May 18th is the national day for combating sexual abuse and exploitation of children and adolescents and the Santa Cabrini Youth Center holds several activities with families and the community in general in commemoration of the date.
This year, we had the recognition of the municipal government for the relevant work done in social assistance in the region of Vila Irmã Dulce, on the outskirts of the south zone of Teresina. The social worker of the institution, Valdelívia Pereira, received homage in commemorative event to the social worker’s day, representing the category.
In the project Integration Citizen, which benefits 120 children, we had two children awarded in first and fourth place in the Video Contest of the Secretariat of Social Assistance of the municipality (SEMCASPI). In the Revitalizing Lives project, which is financed by UNESCO and benefits 150 children and adolescents, two adolescents who benefited from the theatre workshop participated in an advertising campaign of the Public Ministry of the State of Piauí, through the campaign “Childhood and Adolescence without violence”.
With the realization of these activities, we strengthened the permanent commitment to guarantee the rights of children and adolescents and the Cabrinian charisma in defence of life.
